Located in Qingshuihe town, at the intersection of national roads 312 and 218, Jiangsu Industrial Park borders the Ili River in the south and Tianshan in the north. It is located 630 km from Urumqi in the east and 28 km from Huoerguosi Port in the west. The industrial park has a favorable location and convenient transportation options. It is 60 km from Yining Airport and is seated close to the Jingqinghuo and Yiqinghuo highways and the Jingyihuo Railway. It provides access to Huoerguosi Port and major Central Asian countries. Established in 1992, Jiangsu Industrial Park was upgraded to an autonomous-level development zone in 2000. It covers an area of 6.4 square kilometers. Consisting mainly of the Huoerguosi Special Economic Zone, Jiangsu Industrial Park expanded to a larger area of 13 square kilometers based on its original construction area. The park is composed of two major districts. The south district includes the Agricultural and Sideline Products Processing Zone, the Building Materials Processing Zone, the Food Processing Zone and standardized workshops. With a total investment of 110 million yuan ($17.72 million), the industrial park has developed 2.1 km of roads, a 10 km water supply and pipeline network, 7 km of 10 kV high-tension cable, 12 km of communication facilities and 65,800 square meters of standardized workshops. The park has also established an investment service center, a sewage treatment station, a garbage disposal station and other supporting projects.
